Aden Community Q&A (July 2026)
Practical answers from Aden (Project Wolf/Samurai/Essence) community this week: Black Coupon restoration rules, class-change costs, Soul Hound stat priorities after rework, special armor set upgrades, and item imprinting mechanics.
At a glance
- 1Black Coupon: once an item is restored, it cannot be restored again if it breaks
- 2Item imprinting: after enchant success (+bonus), item gets new ID — no longer the original item
- 3Soul Hound rework: now STR-based instead of INT — prioritize P.Atk, P.Skill Crit Damage/Rate
- 4New armor upgrade: base +10, 200 transformation stones, ~10% success (protection level +10 improves odds)
- 5Blessing of Aden cost: 3 per extraction (confirmed this patch — may change between updates)
Overview
Pulled from Aden (Project Wolf, Project Samurai, Essence) community Discord this week. Practical answers on gear mechanics, class changes, and system updates.
Focus on class-switch rules, Black Coupon mechanics, and the Soul Hound rework — all recent pain points for mid-game players.
Black Coupon & item recovery
One-time restoration rule
- Restoration limit
- Once restored with Black Coupon, an item cannot be restored again if it breaks
- Tracking
- No in-game indicator — you must track this yourself
- Imprinting
- After restoration, the item becomes 'imprinted' to that recovery event
Item imprinting after enchant success
Once an item successfully enchants (gains a '+' bonus), it's treated as a new item with a new ID — it is no longer the original item and cannot be recovered if it breaks later.
This applies even if you originally restored it with a Black Coupon. The new enchanted state erases the recovery history.
Class change + imprinted gear
If you restore an imprinted item on a character, then re-roll that character to a new class, the item's slot type does not auto-convert to the new class's ideal weapon. Special equipment slots restore as their original slot type.
- Check the item's imprint tab distinction in your inventory before assuming it upgrades with a class change.
Class switching & costs
Skill restoration
If you switch classes and later switch back to your original class, you keep everything — all skills you had learned and enchanted before switching are restored.
Full cost to respec
- Class books
- Purchase new class skill books
- Blessings of Aden
- 3 per extraction (may vary by patch)
- Re-enchanting
- You must re-enchant all skills from scratch
Multiple class changes
You get one class-change ticket by default. A second ticket can be purchased for approximately 2 billion Adena if you want to try a different class again.
Soul Hound rework (STR-based)
Soul Hound is now STR-based instead of INT-based.
New stat priorities
| Priority | Stat | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | P.Atk | Primary damage source |
| 2nd | P.Skill Critical Damage | Multiplier on skill crits |
| 3rd | P.Skill Critical Rate | Consistency |
Dye conversion cost
If your dyes are still INT-oriented from before the rework, you'll need to swap them to STR. Each dye conversion costs L2 Coins — factor that into your rework budget.
New special armor set upgrade
Requirements & success chance
- Base armor
- Special armor at +10
- Materials
- 200 transformation stones
- Success rate
- ~10% baseline
- Boost
- Having protection level at +10 or higher improves odds further
Treat this as an expensive, RNG-heavy upgrade. Don't commit unless you have serious Adena reserves and are OK with repeated failures.
Game systems & mechanics
Blessings of Aden cost
3 Blessings of Aden per Hero/Legendary skill extraction (confirmed this patch — this requirement has changed between patches, so double-check current patch notes before spending).
Artisan's Berserker Spellbook (time-limited buff)
- Stats
- STR +1 / INT +1, P.Atk & M.Atk +200, Attack/Casting speed +200, Speed +7
- Damage & resist
- All skill power +5%, damage from skills −5%, debuff/mez resistance +20%
- HP/MP & rewards
- Max HP/MP +10%, EXP/SP gain +40%
- Duration
- 20 minutes, 1-minute cooldown
- Persistence
- Buff persists through death, auto-use available
- Storage
- Cannot be mailed, traded, or sold — private-warehouse storage only
PK system & cap
PK count is capped at 100 before you're jailed (confirmed still the case this week).
Cyrex Temple (difficulty scaling)
Built around having at least one very high-gear (whale) player in the party. A decent party can clear in about a minute with that firepower, but without it you likely won't kill anything and will have a bad time. Go in with a geared player if you can.
Kamael Archer & Spirit Ore consumption
- PvE viability
- Strong for PvE — comparable to Orc/Ems/Rose-tier classes
- SO consumption
- Highest Spirit Ore consumption of any class
- Cost example
- Full legendary archer buff rotation (~Dark Soul, Shine Soul, Tricky Sense/Advance/Focus) burns ~580 SO per 20 minutes
- Planning
- Budget your SO income carefully before committing
Attendance tickets ('Play & Returning Gratitude')
These are tied to the attendance calendar — check in and claim through the attendance event UI (through the Black Coupon/attendance panel), not a separate reward source.
Linked names open L2Playbook pages when that skill, item, class, NPC, or zone exists in the database. Values can change with patches — always double-check in-game.
