Samurai / Wolf / Eva Beginner Guide (Aden)

Beginner FAQ for Project Samurai / Wolf / Eva-style Aden servers: pets are optional traps, the 80–85 grind method, open-field vs special zone testing, gear and ranking basics, and how Samurai, Warg, and Eva-family mechanics differ from classic chronicles.

At a glance

  1. 1Pets are not worth funding for new accounts — invest in main character gear instead
  2. 2Before 85 the character is still in starter gear limbo — follow special quest chains to 90+
  3. 3Test every teleport hub camp with 20-minute reset XP/Adena samples
  4. 4Special hunting zones matter more than raw open-field level labels
  5. 5Samurai: katana mobility, ranged skills, strong leveling pace
  6. 6Warg: transform-dependent damage, fear AoE PvP, slower early farm
  7. 7Eva / Aden main: cheaper market, more class variety, no mandatory monthly pass

Pets: skip early investment

Pet systems exist and appear in reward tracks, but by the time a pet contributes meaningful DPS you could have upgraded main-character weapons, talismans, and books. Treat pet items from calendars as optional fluff unless already committed to a Bee Hive ranking push.

80 → 90 bridge

Combat power before ~85 is mostly quest and event gear. Follow the special quest chain toward 90. Avoid titled mobs during starter chains. Use Frintezza/Octavis parties when servers allow 80+ entries for spike progression.

Samurai vs Warg on Project

Before

Project / Eva server basics

Project launches (Samurai, Wolf, Eva) reuse Aden systems with different boost economies — extra Alligator tickets from Abundance, Geran Seal weekly caps, and race/ranking pushes on fresh ladders. Core advice stays: clan early, daily missions, measured farming, meta or near-meta class for ranking.

Aden main remains the reference for accessible gearing and class diversity. Use the complete starter and fast leveling guides for systems detail; use this page when jumping into a Project season with Samurai or Warg.

Linked names open L2Playbook pages when that skill, item, class, NPC, or zone exists in the database. Values can change with patches — always double-check in-game.

FAQ

Should I level a pet on a new Samurai?+

No. Pet damage arrives too late for the Adena spent on food, books, and pet gear. Training Camp Bee Hive tags are the one pet interaction worth using — even then, a free starter wolf is enough.

Where do I farm at level 80?+

Open teleport menu, enter each zone near your level, reset counter, farm 20 minutes, compare XP. Common candidates: Rakshasa Camp, Dragon Valley wings, Lizard Valley, Silent Valley. Then add special zones (Alligator Island, Training Camp, raids when geared).

Samurai or Warg on Project start?+

Samurai for faster leveling and mixed PvE/PvP with ranged skills. Warg for players who accept slower farm in exchange for transform PvP dominance.

How is Aden different from Eva/Wolf branches?+

Aden typically has a more accessible World Trade, broader viable classes, generous event calendars, and no hard requirement for monthly pass purchases. Eva/Wolf branches may gate boosts behind Abundance shops and tighter weekly caps.
