Who to Start for PvE in Classic (2026)
Five practical Classic PvE starters — 'Elemental Summoner', 'Warcryer', 'Bladedancer', 'Phantom Ranger', and 'Storm Screamer' — with mana tricks, self-buff loops, and when to reroll using class-change coupons.
At a glance
- 1Storm Screamer remains the endgame PvE meta; the others are onboarding-friendly
- 2Elemental Summoner solves early MP with Bikra and Seraphim self-buffs
- 3Warcryer vampirism plus Weapon Mastery MP leech enables scroll-less farming
- 4Bladedancer can farm with a bow macro while keeping dance uptime
- 5Phantom Ranger stacks Shining Soul for passive MP recovery
- 6Overlord fear bombs shine on fresh servers but fade after resist stacks
Boost matters, but starter kit still differs
On Classic, sheet stats eventually dominate, yet your first weeks are shaped by mana recovery, self-buffs, and range. These five classes minimize support alts while you learn routes.
'Elemental Summoner' (Horse Lord line)
- Missing
- No Arcane Power toggle; lower baseline than true mages
- Seraphim
- Gift of Seraphim (+30% M. Atk) and CDR buff
- Early MP
- Bikra Recharge on autocast
Macro Seraphim buffs on a 600-second delay if the pony buffs a distant main; on a solo character, panel autocast is enough.
'Warcryer' self-sufficient mage
Life Leech converts damage to HP; Weapon Mastery leeches MP on hit. Chant of Victory replaces fish stew for P. Atk/M. Atk if you keep it refreshed.
'Bladedancer' dance-then-shoot loop
Cast Dance of Fury, Dance of Berserker, 'Dance of Warrior', Dance of Inspiration, Dance of Fire, and 'Dance of Vampire' with duals equipped, swap to bow, enable auto-hunt. Requires duals plus bow plus macro discipline.
'Phantom Ranger'
Shining Soul stacks to 100 grant strong MP regeneration. High STR among archers and Death Mark crit amplification. Farm L-Coins in Adena zones to buy an infinite bone quiver.
'Storm Screamer' meta
Side-by-side starter comparison
Mana and sustain
| Class | MP fix | AoE | Buffer alt value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elemental Summoner | Bikra + Seraphim | Low | High (Seraphim) |
| Warcryer | Weapon Mastery leech | Medium | Medium |
| Bladedancer | Vampiric dance | Low (bow) | Very high |
| Phantom Ranger | Shining Soul | Low | Low |
| Storm Screamer | Needs Orfen/Venir later | High | Low |
Copy-paste macro patterns
Bladedancer bow loop: /targetself → equip duals → sequence dances → equip bow → /attackforce. Summoner: panel-autocast Seraphim buffs every 600s if buffing a distant main.
When to coupon reroll
If after three months your character still needs babysitting for MP or kills single-target while friends pull ahead in ranking, buy a class-change coupon during the next sale and move to Storm Screamer or Phantom Ranger based on range preference.
Party value
Bladedancer and Swordsinger stay in demand for any physical party. Storm Screamer fits mage parties needing AoE. Phantom Ranger is the independent pick.
