Samurai on Classic: What Live Changed

'Samurai' is a Main (Live) rework class — not playable on Classic. This guide maps the Live Samurai kit for cross-version curiosity and lists Classic classes that cover similar PvE and PvP roles.

At a glance

  1. 1Samurai exists on Main/Live, not on Classic third-profession servers
  2. 2Live Samurai brings stance swapping, ranged packing, and Signet scaling
  3. 3Classic PvE parallel: Storm Screamer AoE throughput
  4. 4Classic melee parallel: Destroyer burst or Duelist AoE
  5. 5Classic PvP evasion parallel: Wind Rider, not Samurai

What Samurai is on Main

Live Samurai uses dual stances, cooldown-heavy AoE after Signet upgrades, and strong contested-zone packing. It is a modern dual-class with account-system scaling — a different progression stack from Classic.

Choosing a version

Pick Main if Samurai fantasy is non-negotiable. Pick Classic if you want third-profession nostalgia, spirit grinding, and siege meta. Accounts do not cross over.

If you came from Main to Classic

Expect slower kills, more buffers, spirit grind, and no Signet burst. Your Main muscle memory on Samurai does not translate — relearn third-profession rotations.

FAQ

Will Samurai come to Classic?+

There is no announced Classic port. Assume it stays Live-only until official patch notes say otherwise.

I wanted Samurai mobility — what now?+

Try 'Wind Rider' for PvP or 'Phantom Ranger' for ranged PvE. Neither mirrors Live Samurai Signet AoE.
