Live Leveling Guide: 1 → 105 and First Dailies
What to do from character creation through Lv.105 on Lineage II Live, then your first daily loop: Virtual Equipment System, session zones, early instances, golem quests, relics, Homunculus, and an Iss support window — geared for worldwide players using in-game shops and World Trade.
At a glance
- 1Start on Warg if you want the smoothest auto-attack climb
- 2Clan + mentor first — then ride quests to 85 and push hard to 105
- 3At 85: gift calendar, talent points, and Honor kill quests open
- 4At 105: Virtual Equipment daily (30 pts) unlocks your free 110-grade kit
- 5Every day after: Jamoa · Pantheon · Innadril · Firen + party instances
Why Live in 2026
Live stays worth starting because the class pool is wide, the social layer is thick, and you can climb without dumping huge cash into the screen — most power comes from time, trading, and systems.
- Many playable class fantasies, not a single mandatory meta forever.
- Dense social content: mentoring, instance parties, paid power-levels, clan CRP markets.
- Deep session, field, and cross-server loops — there is always a next activity.
Live vs Essence-style servers
- Biggest Live edge
- Item trade and transfer — buy a piece, farm in it, sell it, roll the Adena into the next upgrade
- Market
- Most farmed mats and drops can be listed on World Trade
- Social economy
- Mentoring coins, instance carries, leveling services, clan CRP payouts
Who to play for the climb
Short starter ranking for 1→105 and early sessions. Full class deep-dives live elsewhere on L2Playbook — this is the practical shortlist.
| Rank | Class | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Warg | Early crit · auto-attack · clean auto-combat · low gear floor · still deletes packs later |
| 2 | Samurai | Huge pack clear once CDs are short · needs more survivability and cooldown gear than Warg |
| 3 | Wynn summoner (Dark Elf best) | Pets share stats · massive damage · can pressure two spots · wants a macro-capable mouse |
| 4–5 | Shine Maker / Sigel tank | Strong kits · both want macros for spam · tanks ease up after CD reduction like Samurai |
- 'Warg' play
- Turn on auto-combat and clear — skills are optional early
- 'Samurai' play
- Skill panel or one fat macro until cooldowns shrink · then buff stays up and hits become AoE
- Summoner caveat
- Live auto-combat retargets slowly — hardware macros (repeat bind) make the class comfortable
- Tank caveat
- Spam AoE, pulls, and holds — same CD story as Samurai
First 30 minutes in game
Skip the lobby noise. Once you are on a character, lock social foundations before you tunnel on XP.
- Clan
- Join ASAP · look for leaders who pay Adena for CRP (clan points)
- CRP pay ballpark
- Often ~15–20M Adena per 1,000 CRP — you start feeding points within a few hours
- Mentor
- Search chat / party finder · mentor gets mentee coins · you get Adena, buffs, or a power-level
- If no mentor yet
- Start questing and refresh finder — do not sit idle half a day
- Claim every in-game gift, event mail, and calendar entry that is already on the character. Relic coupons and Homunculus materials from those gifts matter on day one.
Quests to 85
The game railroads you to 85 through the tutorial / profession chain. Expect about 20 minutes if you do not wander. Equip quest gear the moment it drops — kill speed jumps hard.
- After 85 you are sent into denser monster fields. Burn combat consumables here: faster kills → more XP → faster levels.
Systems that open at 85
Gift calendar
- Log in daily. Typical rewards: relics, pots, rune stones, Homunculus points, and a golden sphere near the end. Missing days is free power left on the table.
Talents (SP tree)
- Gain
- 1 talent point per level
- Auto-attackers ('Warg', etc.)
- Normal-attack branch — P.Atk, crit rate, crit power
- Skill classes (summoner, tank, Shine Maker)
- Skill Power branch (leftmost tree)
Honor skills & mass-kill quests
Honor skills on the right side of the talent UI are huge. Points come from Honor quests. The main storyline funnels you into them.
- First Honor grind
- Kill 40,000 monsters — looks scary, usually a couple of days
- Escalation
- 40k → 40k → 80k → 160k → 320k …
- Payoff
- Large permanent combat stats — worth the long chain
Push to 105 today
105 is the real content gate: session zones and Virtual Equipment. Treat it as today’s finish line, not a weekend project.
- With mentor
- Often 98 → 105 in 1–2 hours (some groups do ~1 hour)
- Solo
- Often 6–7 hours of focused field grinding
- Goal
- Hit 105 the same day you create the character if your schedule allows
- Use party finder for dense fields. Keep talent points spent. Do not sit on unspent SP while you grind.
Virtual Equipment System (first 30 points)
Virtual Equipment is 110-grade gear bought with special points — weapon, armor, stones, accessories at the enhance level you choose. It is the backbone of a no-cash early kit.
- First clear
- Aden · NPC Hsed · transforms you into a golem
- Timer
- ~10 minutes
- Pay
- ~30 points on clear (clan quest)
- Boss
- Spawns ~3 minutes before the end — kill it to finish the quest
- Cap
- About 600 points total · +30 each daily clear
Before you click enter: confirm you are in a clan. No clan → no Virtual Equipment points.
- Spend early points on a usable weapon (example: fists around +6–7), armor toward +8, and attack stones (ruby line after seasonal rotations). On Warg, even ~180 points already starts unlocking early session comfort; a full 600-point kit can hold 110 fields and sessions without cash-shop gear.
Daily session zones
These four zones start feeding your economy after 105. Sell most early junk on World Trade; buy finished pieces.
Jamoa's Camp
- Time
- ~1 hour
- Drops
- ELS-style stones for jewelry · accessory enchant coupons · zone time stones
- Play
- Socket crit power (and similar) into jewelry — four sockets add up fast
- Trade tip
- Do not enchant accessories yourself early — list coupons and buy finished jewelry
Pantheon's Museum
- Drops
- Adena (boosted per kill) · time stones
- Feel
- Day 1 may be rough · days 3–4 with Virtual Equipment feel fine
- Ballpark
- Often ~120–150M Adena/hour early once you can hold the spot
Innadril lands
- Loop
- ~1 hour · chests from kills
- Cap
- ~100 chests / character / day — bring a heal partner if you can
- Jackpot
- Forgotten Power books — often hundreds of millions of Adena on World Trade
- Habit
- Clear every day even when the book does not drop
Firen
- More Adena than same-tier open fields, vitality/energy pots, and time stones for sale. Easy PvE dump for leftover session time.
Party instances
- You will not solo them on day-one gear. Join party finder groups. Final bosses can drop 110-grade weapon chests (often 1B+ Adena) or armor pieces (often hundreds of millions). Add yourself early; fills happen all day.
Weekly golems (damage collection)
- Where
- Abandoned Workshop area (follow the crowd / craters)
- When
- Commonly 14:00 and 18:00 server-local — confirm on your region clock
- Job
- Tag the golem once · back off · let strong players finish
- Quest
- Weekly · three successful tags
- Reward highlight: a collection line around +5% damage dealt and −5% damage taken, plus Ether of Chaos (often 10).
- Early Ether spend: buy Mysterious Stones from the Ether shop → roll / enchant Ambers for flat weapon attack (example: Amber Lv.5 ≈ +125 P.Atk on the weapon). Small but free combat power.
Iss support window
If you can run a second client, an Iss buffer makes every session faster and safer. If you only have one window, party with clan Iss players instead.
| Class | Best when |
|---|---|
| Iss Hierophant (Apostle) | You want crit-damage style buffs — excellent for Warg |
| Iss Sword Muse | You feel squishy — P./M.Atk and defense package · good for Samurai |
- Build a heal macro that targets your main (target command + heal skill) so the Iss does not path into mobs. Park them near you but outside aggro, enable auto-follow/hotkeys, confirm heal range, then farm.
Honor weapon note
Quest Honor weapons stay relevant longer than new players expect — with LS/SA inserts and high enhance they can carry deep into early sessions. Virtual Equipment eventually replaces or mixes with them. Compare prices on World Trade before you trash Honor pieces.
- Inserts and upgrades go through town Blacksmith / Mammon lines. Buy stones on World Trade when quest rewards are not enough.
Relics
Relics are a weapon-collection layer summoned from relic cards/coupons. They buff attack-related stats. Grades climb D → C → B (and up). Matching your weapon profile adds a second bonus line.
Example warrior-profile C-grade (illustrative)
| Type | Bonuses |
|---|---|
| Normal C | Damage +5% · damage taken −5% · profile ~+7% Atk/Def |
| Top C (special art) | Same base · profile bonus jumps (~+10% Atk/Def) |
| Top B | Damage +10% · taken −10% · profile ~+20% Atk/Def |
- Duplicates synthesize into the next grade (e.g. 4× D → chance at C · 4× C → chance at B). Keep feeding spares instead of sitting on piles.
Homunculus
Homunculus are pet-style combat buffs from hourglasses. Ranks: grey → green → red → celestial/purple. Each has a unique kit.
- Early play
- Bond a usable green/red · level toward 5
- 'Warg' example
- Devil-style Homunculus prized for crit-power nodes
- Points
- Pet points from hunting (order of ~5/day style caps — 100 kills per point is a common cadence)
- Enhance mini-game
- You / system / Homunculus each roll · no matches = rank 1 · one match = rank 2 · all three match = rank 3 max bonus
- Repeat the enhance mini-game across all five ability slots. Rank-3 lines are the real power spike — do not stop at one lucky roll.
Zone-by-zone route: 1 to 105
Follow the quest destination first and use field grinding only to close a level gap. Exact monster names can move with updates, but the decision rule stays the same: kill dense packs at your level without deaths or long travel.
Practical leveling stages
| Level | Main job | How to play the stage | Leave when |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–20 | Tutorial and first profession steps | Accept the nearby main quest, equip every reward immediately, use the supplied teleports, and let the quest chain choose the hunting area. Do not buy gear for a stage that lasts minutes. | The main quest sends you to the next town or profession step |
| 20–40 | Continue the profession chain | Keep the quest weapon equipped, add only free consumables, and kill required monsters inside the marked area. If auto-hunt wanders, reduce its radius so quest kills are not split across distant packs. | The profession quest advances and a new equipment package replaces the old one |
| 40–61 | Quest-led field stages | Move directly to each assigned zone. Favor compact groups over isolated higher-level monsters; broad classes should stand between two nearby spawn points while narrow classes anchor on one tight pack. | The next quest marker appears or kills begin giving visibly poor progress |
| 61–76 | Finish the pre-awakening chain | Refresh buffs before each field leg, keep recovery automatic, and check that the current weapon has actually been equipped. Avoid optional detours unless they award a permanent system unlock. | The awakening/profession sequence becomes available |
| 76–85 | Awakening path and final tutorial fields | Complete every required dialogue and instance in order. Spend no Adena trying to perfect temporary equipment; the Lv.85 package and new systems matter much more. | Lv.85 systems, talents, calendar, and Honor quests are visible |
| 85–95 | Main quest plus dense field packs | Spend new talent points before hunting, activate only boosts you can use without interruption, and keep the character on same-level monsters. Move down if recovery cannot hold a full pack. | The main chain moves you forward or the current pack takes too long to respawn |
| 95–99 | Quest handoffs and party opportunities | Continue the guided route, but accept a mentor or clan power-level if offered. In solo play, compare ten-minute XP samples and choose the tighter spawn instead of the highest monster level. | Lv.99 progression opens or a mentor moves you past the range |
| 99–103 | Sustained field grind | This is where weak builds start losing time to movement and deaths. Tighten auto-hunt radius, carry enough ore and recovery, and group with support rather than forcing an unstable solo camp. | A higher zone gives more XP without increasing deaths or time-to-kill |
| 103–105 | Final gate push | Use the best stable same-level field, mentor group, or party finder option available. Save at least enough play time after dinging 105 to complete the Virtual Equipment System run and inspect session zones. | Lv.105 is reached; stop field grinding long enough to unlock the daily loop |
- Ten-minute test
- Record starting XP, farm one unchanged pack for ten minutes, then compare gain, deaths, and target downtime
- Move up
- Only when the next area dies at nearly the same speed and does not break recovery
- Move down
- When monsters survive several rotations, the character dies, or movement consumes more time than attacking
- Party rule
- A stable party that keeps monsters available can beat higher solo sheet XP even after sharing
- Boost rule
- Use short boosts for guaranteed quest/instance blocks; save long boosts for uninterrupted 60-minute farming
Talent plan through 105
Talents should solve the damage type you actually use, then the reason your farm stops. A clean early tree is more valuable than spreading points across every attractive icon.
Early talent priorities
| Build | First priority | Second priority | Avoid early |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal attacker | Normal-attack damage, P. Atk, critical rate until consistent | Critical damage, attack speed, then enough sustain | P. Skill-only lines that never affect the rotation |
| Physical skillcaster | P. Skill Power and P. Skill critical support | Cooldown/reuse, P. Atk, then defense required to keep casting | Normal critical damage and normal-attack-only nodes |
| Magic skillcaster | M. Skill Power and M. Skill critical support | Cooldown, M. Skill Critical Damage, then resource stability | Overbuying crit rate after practical casts are capped |
| Summoner | Owner/summon-compatible skill damage and broad offense | Cooldown, defense, and MP/HP stability for long sessions | Assuming every owner critical stat transfers fully to summons |
| Tank or support leveling | The damage branch used by the solo rotation | HP, defense, cooldown, and recovery once kills are acceptable | Building a pure group preset that cannot finish solo quest kills |
- Spend points as levels arrive. Reopen the tree after major class changes because the skill used before awakening may not represent the post-awakening damage type.
- Fix one bottleneck at a time: no crits means crit rate; long dead periods mean cooldown; deaths mean sustain; slow but safe kills mean the correct power line.
- Honor skills are a parallel permanent track. Start the mass-kill chain early so ordinary leveling and daily sessions advance it automatically.
Your first dailies after 105
The first daily reset is about unlocking repeatable power without wasting limited clocks. Do the fixed, short tasks first, then enter timed zones with a prepared character.
First daily checklist in order
| Order | Task | Before you start | Success check |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Claim calendar, mail, and free character rewards | Leave inventory space and read expiration dates | Permanent items are stored; timed boosts are not activated accidentally |
| 2 | Spend talents and update auto-hunt | Confirm the active damage type after awakening | No unspent points; recovery, target range, and consumables are configured |
| 3 | Virtual Equipment System clear | Be in a clan, accept the linked point quest, and allow about ten minutes | Boss is defeated, quest completes, and roughly 30 points are visible |
| 4 | Buy the next Virtual Equipment breakpoint | Compare the planned weapon, armor, stone, or accessory cost before clicking | The purchase improves today’s farm instead of leaving an unusable partial set |
| 5 | Short daily instances | Prepare party, buffs, ore, and reward space outside | Daily lockouts are consumed with minimal town downtime |
| 6 | Devastated Innadril / first fixed session | Select destination, full boosts, and a sustainable pack before entry | The full fixed hour produces XP and chests without setup waste |
| 7 | Jamoa, Pantheon, or Firen by goal | Choose materials, Adena, or flexible farming before spending the clock | Net reward and XP are recorded for tomorrow’s comparison |
| 8 | Party finder and weekly checks | Review available instances and golem timing | You joined realistic groups and did not idle waiting for an impossible carry |
| 9 | Relic and Homunculus maintenance | Use earned materials after the timed content | Duplicates are synthesized and useful ability progress is applied |
| 10 | Market and inventory cleanup | Price drops against current World Trade listings | Sellable rewards are listed; tomorrow’s inventory has room |
- If play time is 30 minutes
- Calendar → talents → Virtual Equipment System → short instances
- If play time is 90 minutes
- Add the fixed Innadril hour after the short block
- If play time is 3+ hours
- Add the reward-specific daily session, party instances, then the best measured field
- Daily record
- Write down Virtual Equipment points, session rewards, deaths, consumable cost, and total XP
- Reset habit
- Check character-bound daily clocks separately from account-wide weekly minutes
Common mistakes that slow 1 to 105
Mistake and correction
| Mistake | Why it hurts | Correction |
|---|---|---|
| Buying temporary leveling gear | Quest packages replace it quickly and resale may be poor | Save Adena for durable post-105 breakpoints |
| Grinding above the character’s stable tier | Deaths, misses, long rotations, and travel erase nominal monster XP | Use the highest compact pack that dies continuously |
| Entering sessions while configuring | The shared timer continues during setup and travel | Prepare buffs, inventory, recovery, and route outside |
| Leaving talent points unspent | Free damage and sustain sit idle during the hardest stretch | Spend after every few levels and after class changes |
| Mixing normal-attack and skill-only stats | Half the purchases may not affect the actual rotation | Identify the damage type from the skills used, then buy matching lines |
| Activating every XP item at once | Travel, queues, maintenance, or deaths consume paid duration | Stack boosts only for an uninterrupted high-return block |
| Ignoring clan and mentor systems | You delay Virtual Equipment points, buffs, guidance, and possible power-leveling | Join early, but leave groups that demand payment without clear terms |
| Enchanting every drop | Early materials disappear into low-value items | Sell tradable inputs and buy finished breakpoints when cheaper |
| Copying one published XP rate | Class coverage, boosts, level, and crowding differ | Measure your own unchanged ten-minute sample |
| Skipping recovery checks | A farm may run for minutes, die, and waste hours offline | Watch the first full rotation and confirm potion/MP sustain before leaving |
Day-one checklist
- Pick class (Warg default) → join CRP-paying clan → find mentor.
- Blast quests to 85 → spend talents correctly → start Honor 40k chain.
- Hit 105 same day if possible → first Virtual Equipment clear (30 pts) → buy first weapon/armor/stones.
- Run Jamoa · Pantheon · Innadril · Firen → join instance finder → tag weekly golems when up.
- Add Iss window if you can · keep relic synthesis and Homunculus leveling in the background.
Linked names open L2Playbook pages when that skill, item, class, NPC, or zone exists in the database. Values can change with patches — always double-check in-game.
