Complete Live Starter Guide (2026)

Worldwide Lineage II Live playbook for new and returning players: class tier list, quest leveling to 105–110, mentors and early Adena, Virtual Equipment System and Kartia's Labyrinth dailies, session zones, party and clan instances, starter gear via World Trade, Dethrone, Olympiad, and Tower of Insolence.

At a glance

  1. 1Best starter DPS: Warg, then Samurai, then dagger lines — Red Libra can swap later
  2. 2Clear tutorial quests hard through 99 → 105, then unlock daily Virtual Equipment + Kartia's Labyrinth
  3. 3Push ~108–110 before serious session farming (level penalty is real)
  4. 4Early session priority: Pantheon's Museum + Jamoa's Camp
  5. 5From 110: Dethrone orbs + Tower of Insolence for Adena and power

Start here

Assume the client is installed and you are in character creation. This guide is the gameplay on-ramp — class, leveling, dailies, sessions, and midgame systems.

  • Pick a comfortable starter class (Warg or Samurai if you want the smoothest path).
  • Join a high-level clan and find a mentor as soon as you can move freely.
  • Clear the tutorial / profession quest chain — do not skip it. Push hard to 99, then 105.
  • At 105: daily Virtual Equipment System + Kartia's Labyrinth. Aim for 108–110 before heavy session farming.
  • Fund upgrades through World Trade, NPC Adena shops, and session point shops — not region cash shops.

Class pick (starter tier list)

Subjective ranking for a comfortable early Live experience. Auto-attackers sit at the top because they clear quests and fields with less gear and fewer paid skill books. Your first character does not have to be your forever main.

S-tier starters

1. 'Warg'
Human line · smoothest early grind · high crit · tanky · free early skills (no rune stones) · strong PvP later · excellent Adena farmer / twin
Warg weakness
Short melee range — crowded Dethrone / ToI floors favor ranged
2. 'Samurai'
Same auto-attack comfort · lighter armor early · signature skill fully online at Lv.120 + several enhanced rune stones (expensive spike)

On Warg, early quests and daily activities feel forgiving because baseline skills already contribute percentage power without a shop full of books. That gap shrinks later, but it matters a lot for the first week. Samurai plays similarly once fist/sword kits and the first gear spike land; until then expect a slightly slower climb.

Daggers (Othell)

Every dagger line works. Burst comes from stacking P.Atk with normal-attack scaling — single-target hits can feel roughly twice what many other lines do. Weak party utility; strong for solo grind and PvP. If you like the fantasy, start here without guilt.

ClassNotes
Othell AdventurerHuman dagger · balanced starter dagger
Othell Wind RiderElf · gap tools and resets
Othell Ghost HunterDark Elf · usually the highest damage
Othell Fortune SeekerDwarf spoiler · dungeon/loot niche

Iss buffers

Play as a main or as a second window. Party content expects at least one solid Iss kit.

'Iss Dominator'
Best full-party package · early twin is awkward (long buff CDs)
'Iss Hierophant'
Easier solo / twin · damage buffs, heals, limits — strong PoM-style support
'Iss Sword Muse'
Weapon-defense song · staple in serious parties
'Iss Spectral Dancer'
Overlaps Muse; skip as a pure twin unless you love the class

Tanks (Sigel)

Modern tanks both deal damage and support. Stances and party buffs swing between survivability and damage. Shields and temporary immortality tools are among the best in the game for both PvE and PvP.

Summoners · healers · Shine Maker

  • Wynn summoners: solid Adena farmers and twins. Auto-combat is awkward — macros help. Magic crit scaling feels weaker than physical auto-attack lines at high end.
  • Aeore healers: party staples (cleanse, debuffs, support buffs). Fast cast + high crit make them surprisingly good early solo with gear. Prefer Aeore Shillien Saint or 'Aeore Eva's Saint'; Aeore Cardinal is fine too.
  • Shine Maker: mobile, manashield, party value — hungry for cooldown gear and dual weapon setups. Spadon early, bow later. Popular once online.

Mid pack · archers · elemental mages

Playable mid tier if you love them: Titan/Destroyer, Maestro, Dreadnought/Berserker, Warlord, Grand Khavatari, Death Knight. Auto-attack entry is fine; expect more work than Warg/Samurai.

  • Yul archers can auto-attack grind, but they are awkward without investment. Fine for dedicated fans; not the easiest free-start climb.
  • Bottom for new accounts right now: elemental Feoh lines and Soultaker — low early damage, attribute lock-in, painful leveling. Wait for a rework if you are not a dedicated fan.

Day-one setup in game

  • Open every in-game gift, calendar reward, and event mail on the character. Claim relic coupons from the side panel and summon.
Relic match
Same weapon type as your relic = all three bonus lines · mismatch = first two only
Relic ranks
Free/event base → solid B-rank · high A-rank is late/expensive
Clan
Join a high-level clan immediately for passives and early buffs
Mentor
Link a mentor for buffs — many will party-power-level you toward 105

Quest leveling to 105

Do not skip the tutorial chain. Early training is short (~15–20 minutes). The real time sink is 85 → 99 → 105.

Lv.40
Equip quest gear the moment you get it — kill speed jumps
Professions
All three stages are quick hand-ins
Lv.85
Labyrinth quest → final profession + core skills unlock
SP
1 point per level · spend into Berserker / your main damage branch (phys / magic / auto-attack)
To 99
Rising kill quests across higher fields

The 1,000-kill quest

This is where many new players stall. Melee classes usually clear in War-Torn Plains; ranged prefer hotter swamp-style fields (Blazing Swamp / Hot Springs area). Open party finder — groups labeled for these spots fill fast. Solo is fine on a strong class; party is faster and safer.

Time
Often ~40–60 minutes depending on class and party
No MP regen?
Kill speed too low — drop back, hit 101–102, return
Rewards
Armor · talismans · diadem · dyes · weapon upgrade path at town Blacksmith
Dyes
Apply at the dye NPC near the Heine reward / upgrade area

After the 1,000

  • Upgrade quest fists/weapons and armor at the Blacksmith. Slot dyes. If the character can hold Lv.102–104 fields on quest gear (Warg usually can), park there. Goal: 105 for Virtual Equipment and new dailies.
'Abandoned Coal Mines'
Timed · strong XP into ~107 · skip buying extra time early
40k+ kill chain
Follow-up mass-kill quests · Honor points into attack/defense · caps at 12 points after 115
Time to 105
Roughly 8–14 hours of focused play depending on class and help

Mentors, mentees & early Adena

Mentoring is one of the cleanest early Adena engines that does not depend on a regional cash shop.

Mentor coins
~100,000 if the mentee links early (before ~5) and reaches 105
Spend coins on
Dark / Chaos spheres from Traveler Helper shops — sell on World Trade or feed collections
Skip usually
Atlas-style earrings unless you are on a dagger that specifically wants them
Sphere prices
Often around ~1.5B Adena on World Trade (moves with the market)
  • Collections are account-wide. Base spheres synthesize upward with Holy Water from grocers. Closing collection lines is permanent power.

More early Adena loops

  • Mentee leveling feeds clan CRP (~10k from 1→105). Active clans sometimes pay 300–350M Adena on top of mentor coins for the CRP.
  • Benir synthesis (commonly done in Giran): buy Benirs → clear clan mission rewards on each character → push Benir toward +11/+12 for collection or World Trade. List price can sit near ~1.2B while craft cost runs higher — still often profitable even with occasional fails.
  • Craft Seeds of Fire (large ore buys → many special crafts) and list them. Early players buy them to grow orbs.
  • Dwarf craft: weightless potions from crystals + ore → World Trade. Physical and magic versions both move.

After 105 — what opens

Session zones unlock by level, but gear plus the level penalty still gate real farming. Borrowed or traded gear helps damage; it does not erase the penalty. Character level is as important as item score.

Daily #1
Virtual Equipment System (Aden · often via NPC Hsed) — ~10 min golem session
Daily #2
Kartia's Labyrinth — near Aden stairs · pick a clearable difficulty
Subclass
Most classes can take one · lower priority after reward reworks · still useful for rune stones, Homunculus progress, or faster mentee leveling
No subclass
Samurai has no subclass window
Subclass swap
Paid in Adena at the quest NPC if you hate the pick

Virtual Equipment System

Your main free daily gear ladder. Clear it every day from 105 onward — points fund Virtual Equipment weapons, armor, and accessories before you lean on World Trade.

Where
Aden · enter through the system NPC (commonly Hsed)
Length
~10 minutes daily
Points
~30 per clear · soft cap around 600
Mini-boss
Appears mid-run (~2:30) · clan membership needed for the related quest
Macro
Bind 2 attack skills · right-click the macro or feed auto-combat

You transform into a golem with a short skill set. You do not need your real gear kit to clear — the session is about points and XP. Always be in a clan before you enter so the quest and point payouts register.

What to buy with points

  • Early priority: Virtual Equipment set pieces → symbol → weapon. That package alone carries a huge amount of early content.
  • When capped on points: cocktails and feather resurrection are efficient. Energy pots (Beora-style) are usually cheaper in the Adena NPC shop in large stacks — buy there instead of burning Virtual Equipment points.
  • Later, when Adena farming is healthy, you can spend surplus on relics, Ether, chronicle materials, Beora, and powders from the related shops. Calendar gifts sometimes include a rare golden sphere for collections — bank it if you are unsure which slot to overwrite.

Kartia's Labyrinth

Where
Aden · near the stairs / instance NPCs
Clear
Six monster waves · usually a few minutes
Wrong difficulty?
Leave and re-enter a lower floor
Rewards
XP + boss chest consumables · higher floors = better XP buff scrolls and supplies

Treat this as a daily checkbox. Push the highest floor you can clear cleanly — dying or soft-locking wastes more time than taking a safer floor.

Homunculus

RankWhat to do
GreyBreak into evolution points · do not invest
Green (Expert)Temporary raise toward ~5 · replace when you get better
Red (High)Main midgame goal · roughly ~700 enhance points to 5
Purple (Hero)Upgrade from red · roughly ~3000 points to 5 · re-roll branches
  • Hourglasses come from quests, events, Adena/coin shops, and Cradle of Life crafts. Red drops are rare — treat a good red as a long-term piece.
  • Upgrading red → purple needs another red, evolution points, Adena, and Solaris. After the upgrade you re-level branches (1/2/3 rolls) for the big bonuses.
  • Enhance points come from hunting and energy spend. Strong fish can reset points if you need to re-roll — buy on World Trade or fish on a twin.

Pick Homunculus for the hole in your sheet: raw damage (e.g. Diavalnok), cooldown (Ari), Adena (Charon), touch/support (FoFo), or balanced (Pegasus). There is no single correct pick for every class.

Chronicles / Tales

Hero chronicles
Fed by dimension scrolls from ToI, events, calendars, loot boxes
Travel chronicles
Drop in 110+ fields and instances · drop rate rises with a timed rune (sold in the Adena shop for a large flat cost, ~7 days)
Week on one spot
Roughly 350–400 tales at a good clear rate · often tens of millions of Adena each on World Trade
Use case
Fund early grind when raw Adena feels low — or keep for your own chronicle slots

Where to level 105–110

Most session content is still punished by level. Sit in recommended 102 / 104 / 106 in-server fields from the map. Ask clanmates for power-level parties if you want speed.

Target for Warg / Samurai / summoners
Lv.108 before first serious sessions
Everyone else
Prefer Lv.110
Why
Cuts session-zone penalties enough to farm instead of suffer
  • Side quests under the secondary tab give damage potions — save them for bosses and instances, not random open-world AFK.

Content map (4 buckets)

BucketWhat it is for
In-server fieldsSteady XP · Adena · chests · blood spheres · collection mats
Session zonesTimed high-value farms (Museum · Jamoa · Innadril · Firen · Rift · Tomb)
Cross-serverDethrone (orbs + PvP) · Tower of Insolence (Adena)
Party / clanInstances · Freya · Arahmona · Superion · Throne · epic raids

A healthy day mixes dailies (Virtual Equipment + Kartia), at least one session, and either field XP or cross-server when you are ready. Do not expect to live in only one bucket.

In-server hunting

Core loop: XP, Adena, chests, blood spheres, and mats. Higher fields raise quantities more than they change the loop. Party fields share XP and drop more spheres (tens per day at good kill rates) but usually no chests.

From ~122 orc fields
Collection mats + Ether of Chaos for shop sinks
Timed fields
Swamp of Screams · Plunderous Plains around 12:00 & 18:00 · hourly bosses (~2M damage for reward)
Field bosses
Respawn roughly every 6 hours after kill · jewelry collection crafts · 40-participation quests

Session zones

Comfortable from ~108–110. The four main lines scale 105→120 (Innadril has a 125). Recharge stones and weekly timers matter as much as drop tables.

Pantheon's Museum

Drops
Adena · XP · Museum time recharge stones
Ballpark Adena/hour
105: ~100–110M · 110: ~300–330M · 115: ~370–400M · 120: ~700–750M (buffs change this)
Monkey buff
Doubles Adena while active — play around it
Time
1h/day base · up to +2 recharge stones · daily reset 06:30
Tip
Do not burn stones on 105 — sell them on World Trade to high-level farmers

Jamoa's Camp

Best early progression session. Enchant stones for jewelry, shirts, and bracelets; enchant scrolls; Dawn crystals. Early on, sell most of it on World Trade and buy finished pieces instead of gambling crafts.

  • Drop rates are similar across 105–115; 120 mainly has more monsters (more pulls per hour). Characters at 120 also get a daily treasure-bag cap across sessions.

Innadril session

Time
Fixed 1h · no recharge stones · no Adena
Drops
XP · capped ~100 chests (rune stones → Forgotten Power books / artifacts / wood talisman)
Quest
Kill ~1400 → chests of XP buffs and combat consumables
125
Dense enough for multiple quest clears per hour on two spots
  • Later you can sell Innadril quest carries. Early on, just clear it yourself for the XP buffs.

Firen

  • Beora energy pots, more Adena than same-level in-server fields, solid XP, full PvE. Higher tier = more XP/Adena. Safe place to dump extra time stones when you do not want PvP risk.

Rift in Time

Entry
Lv.110+ · 600 min/week · reset Wed 06:30 · no extend
Feel
110≈ party 112–114 difficulty
Drops
Seal stones → Ether · Solaris · rare jewelry / Seven Seals talisman
Best floors
120 / 125 for XP — skip early if you are still gearing

Imperial Tomb

Party & clan instances

Listed from 105 on paper; realistic from ~110 with gear or a carry. Most entrances sit in Aden. Paying Adena for a clear is normal — so is asking clanmates.

Early party instances

InstanceNotes
Krofin's NestFour wave rooms · last boss barrier if DPS low · party chest + personal chest
Ashen Shadow CampScattered packs · stuns/cages/heals · kill healers first · strong XP
Eternal Rest / HavenFour mini-bosses + final · good first solo DPS check
BailorTwo bosses · 10-min shield if slow · interrupt or wait it out
Forest of Spirits1h shared XP · no extra loot table

Difficulties scale 105 / 110 / 115 / 120. Higher floors give better XP; chest quality only moves a little — the shared random chest is still the prize.

Heavier party / clan

ContentWhy go
FreyaCollection drops · geared groups delete it in seconds
Arahmona (easy)Expensive collection pieces · entry stone → Superion 15 min
Superion Fortress115+ · 124 mobs · ~2M dmg soft-cap · Forgotten Power pages + Ether
Throne of Heroes8 clan members · Goldberg / Mary Reed / Tauti by clan level
Tauti / Frintezza / OctavisClan / multi-party · ~20k dmg caps · shared loot
Spirit's SealFour elemental bosses · high-value collection RNG
AntharasPer-player chests · rare LSO-class drops stay with you

First real gear

Budgets and damage types differ (physical / magical / auto-attack). Use Virtual Equipment as the bridge, then buy finished pieces on World Trade.

Virtual Equipment weapon
Better than early Honor gear · cheap points · then buy a +10 Lv.110 weapon and upgrade
Upgrade NPCs
Town Blacksmith · PvE/PvP inserts at Blacksmith of Mammon
Virtual Equipment armor
Warg is fine near +0 · other classes may need crit/CD rolls sooner
Gemstones
Pa'agrio / Tersi after a real +8/+10 110 set — expensive early
Mixed sets
Virtual Equipment + permanent pieces still form set bonuses
  • Example Virtual Equipment spend order on Warg: shirt → attack stones → symbol → rainbow diadem → cloak → then opal / brooch / weapon filler. Adjust to whatever your sheet is missing.
  • Jewelry first on World Trade: Fallen / Angel lines — buy finished +6 to +8. Common starter mix: Fallen Angel earring + Angel ring (Silenite or XP) + dragon leftovers. Bad rolls can often be exchanged at helper NPCs for chests instead of re-enchanting.
  • Bracelets (Caril / Seed): craft via Heine fisher exchanges when cheaper than the listing. Temporary talismans from World Trade. Masia/Eva crystals — buy ≥3 (prefer ≥5); only one socket side applies.
  • Agathions: buy finished on World Trade. Artifact book ≥2 (or exclusive +5) and fill artifacts. Dyes: aim for Lv.5 and leave them. Brooch: buy finished — synthesizing low stones is usually minus EV. Dragon leather shirt for crit power. Genesis belt Lv.2 → Chaos belt later.

Dethrone

Opens around 110. Main orb progression, huge XP, and open PvP without XP loss. This is where accounts start to feel “real.”

Weekday windows
Morning and late-night 2h blocks (commonly 10:00–12:00 and 22:00–24:00 server time)
Weekend
Longer evening window · early hours PvE-safe · later hours open PvP (except permanent PvE pockets)
Early orbs
Soul of Battle / Life Source style lines can start with Adena + Spirit Ore before you ever enter
Holy Fire
Plant flowers in fire zones · ~25 min mature · points from kills, gathers, or AFK ticks
Fire AFK
Bring heal (Tanzanite / self-heal / party chain) — the zone burns HP
Point shop
Buy next-tier orbs · sell surplus on World Trade
  • Cannot kill mobs yet? Still go — grow fire source and attributes. Party up on early brackets. Gear gaps decide most open-world fights; pick a floor where you can contest.

Dethrone is also social: alliances, shared spots, and server rivalries. You do not need the top bracket on day one — mid brackets still grow orbs and teach the PvP cadence.

Olympiad

When
Weekend window (commonly Friday–Saturday)
Hero
Class #1 + season fight quota → Hero for the next cycle (~1 month)
Participation farm
Clear the monthly fight quota (often 25) → Battle Marks → skill enchant codices (use or sell on World Trade)
Alts
110+ characters clearing the quota are a steady Adena side activity
Off-meta
Easier Hero shots on unpopular classes — check the class participation board

Tower of Insolence

Timer
300 min/week · +300 with recharge stones · reset Wed 06:30
Entry
110+ · real farming usually 115+ with gear
Lowest floors
116–118 · brutal competition · PK does not jail · unlimited PKs
Adena ballpark
Full control of a 116-style floor can approach ~800–900M Adena/hour
Floors 120+
More XP/Adena · open PvP without PK flag · gear requirement jumps hard per floor

Low floors stay packed because the entry barrier is lower while Adena/hour is still excellent. High floors need multiples of your previous gear budget for incremental Adena gains — that is why 4–6F feel emptier.

What this guide leaves for later

Sieges, castle fights, epic festivals, long quest chains, and advanced Adena methods are out of scope here. Use this page to reach stable 110+ routines, then specialize by class and clan content.

FAQ

Which class should a new Live player pick?+

'Warg' is the most forgiving starter — auto-attack, high crit, free early skills, solid survivability. 'Samurai' is close if you like that fantasy. Daggers hit hardest on a single target but lean solo/PvP. You can change class later through Red Libra events when they run.

When do session zones become real content?+

You can enter around Lv.105, but the level penalty makes them rough until roughly 108–110 with usable gear. Until then, prioritize Virtual Equipment System dailies and Kartia's Labyrinth every day.

What is the Virtual Equipment System?+

A daily Aden session (often entered via NPC Hsed) where you fight as a golem for about 10 minutes. You earn points toward Virtual Equipment weapons, armor, and accessories — the main free gear ladder before World Trade purchases.

Why does everyone want Dethrone and Tower of Insolence?+

Dethrone is where Dethrone orbs grow into major combat power, with open PvP that does not cost XP. Tower of Insolence pays some of the highest raw Adena per hour in the game, with heavy competition for spots.

Should I buy gear or farm it early?+

Sell most early session drops on World Trade and buy finished pieces (jewelry, bracelets, dyes). Crafting and synthesizing low-tier stones usually loses Adena compared to buying ready gear.
