Samurai Leveling From Scratch (2026)
A complete Samurai starter route for Live: why the class is a funded long project, how normal-attack scaling works, enhanced rune stone skill order, PoE and gear priorities, daily loop before 'Sign' is online, and when Warg is the smarter opener on the same account.
At a glance
- 1Samurai is a normal-attack class: skills and toggles still scale through auto-attack stats
- 2Budget reality is four enhanced rune stones minimum; seven stones complete the core buff package including 'Sign'
- 3'Sign' turns Samurai into a ranged auto-attacker and is the largest PvE breakpoint
- 4Stack normal-attack crit rate toward ~99%, then prioritize normal-attack crit power over ring crit rate
- 5PoE favors physical attack, elemental attack, normal-attack power and attack power of all attacks
- 6Early leveling can run skill-heavy until 'Sign' exists; swap to pursuit + maneuver macros afterward
- 7Warg reaches useful farm output with less investment if the account is not ready for Samurai stones
What Samurai is on Live
Samurai is a fast, normal-attack DPS line with a high ceiling and a real Adena gate. It shares equipment direction with Warg but solves a different account problem.
Samurai has no dual class. Every PoE point, stone purchase and armor choice lands on one body. That makes the class excellent when funded and fragile when treated like a cheap auto-attack starter.
Before
After
Character panel priorities
- Primary
- Physical attack, normal-attack power, normal-attack crit power
- Crit rate
- Ring crit rate helps early; stop chasing it after ~1,500 crit rate
- Accuracy
- Keep high; normal attacks miss more than skills on some packs
- Ignore
- Physical skill power, magnificence
- Optional
- Cooldown reduction to extend 'Sign' if stones are delayed
- Attributes
- Match the farm zone; uniform attribute beats rainbow chasing
PoE first picks (damage path)
| Pick | Why |
|---|---|
| Physical attack | Base multiplier for all normal-attack damage |
| Elemental attack | Scales every farm you actually stand in |
| Attack power of all attacks +14% | Flat damage when alternatives are weak |
| Normal-attack power | Direct Samurai scaling |
| Attribute +100 | Cheap elemental damage on early accounts |
Skill and stone order
Learn the full attack kit, but spend enhanced rune stones on the buff package first: Resolution, Determination, Advent and especially 'Sign'. 'Sign' converts melee chasing into ranged normal attacks and is the reason Samurai overtakes other auto classes at equal gear.
Stone priority
| Skill | Role | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 'Sign' | Ranged auto-attack mode | Four enhanced stones for top level; largest PvE swing |
| Resolution / Determination / Advent | Damage buff stack | Normal-attack power and attack bonuses |
| 'Pursuit' / 'Maneuver' | Mobility + farm uptime | Core macro pair after 'Sign' |
| Minor attack upgrades | Incremental % | Delay if stone budget is tight |
Forgotten Power books still matter: physical attack, master/final damage, elemental defense and protective armor books are timely upgrades. PvP closes are optional until the PvE loop is stable.
Gear path 1→110
Follow the same early Live ladder as other physical starters: quest Honor gear to +21 weapon, +10 Bloody armor, Angel jewelry, then replace Virtual Equipment System slots as permanent pieces appear on World Trade.
Piece order (normal-attack focus)
| Stage | Target | Stat focus |
|---|---|---|
| 105 | Angel rings/earrings, temporary talismans | Normal-attack crit rate then crit power |
| 105–107 | Seed bracelet, tattoos, Scorpion + Lion agathions | Crit power and physical attack |
| 108–110 | Rainbow diadem, Dragon leather shirt, large gems | Release VES mask/cloak slots |
| 110+ | PVE +8 Leviathan set pieces with attribute | Received-damage reduction + uniform attribute |
| Weapon | Bloody cutter → Bloody reaper | Normal-attack LS on weapon and shirt |
Dyes: fifth-level Confident dyes on physical attack, normal-attack power and normal-attack crit power. Brooch gems: Ruby and Red Cat's Eye first; Garnet for control zones later.
Level route and daily loop
1→85 follows the standard quest rail. At 85 take calendar rewards and talent points. Push 85→105 through recommended solo zones, party camps when available, and short instances. At 105 immediately start Virtual Equipment System daily points and dual class to 105 for certificates.
Post-105 Samurai week plan
| Day block | Activity | Goal |
|---|---|---|
| Morning | Virtual Equipment System to daily cap | Temporary mask/cloak/weapon bridge |
| Midday | 105 instances with a party | XP + tradable chest rolls |
| Afternoon | Field camp at recommended solo tier | Adena + materials until 107–108 |
| Evening | Jamoa or Firen when stable | Materials or Beora pots |
| Weekly | Save session minutes for 108+ farmer | Do not burn Pantheon early on undergeared body |
Farm setup and macros
Pre-'Sign' farm: stack buffs, use pursuit and maneuver, weave the highest-damage skill window, and keep elemental cocktail + beer on auto-use. Post-'Sign': simplify to buffs, 'Sign', pursuit, maneuver and normal attack.
- Buffs
- Elemental cocktail, beer, dragon attribute potion on auto
- Movement
- 'Pursuit' to close; 'Maneuver' to reposition spread packs
- Sustain
- Vampiric rage from earrings; heavier packs need more defense
- Spread packs
- 'Sign' solves most distance problems after investment
