Fortune Seeker · Ghost Hunter · Wind Rider · Adventurer — Perfect, crits, farming
Othell Rogues Full Comparison (2026)
Side-by-side Live dagger guide: how Perfect Rate/Power works, why Ghost Hunter dominates raw damage, when Fortune Seeker and Wind Rider win farms, and why Adventurer is last.
At a glance
- 1Perfect chance ≈ (passive Perfect Rate + skill Perfect Rate) ÷ 1000 — flat points, not old %
- 2Ghost Hunter is the default dagger: Cold Blood Reaper, Preparation Perfect uptime, white-damage viable
- 3Fortune Seeker: highest crit rate (~59% class bonus vs ~32%), best skillcast/session AoE, boss-friendly crit build
- 4Wind Rider: weakest raw multiplier, best ToI/shot farmer once dashes Perfect-reset each other — skip Silenite/CD Homunculus
- 5Adventurer: no real ranged damage blink, Perfect rates on the floor — skip unless you love the fantasy
The four Live Othells
Same dagger chassis, four different jobs. This is the only archetype where the subclasses feel this far apart.
Identity at a glance
| Class | One-line job | Default build |
|---|---|---|
| Othell Ghost Hunter | Highest damage · white/Perfect viable · Reaper uptime | Damage first · Perfect second · crit rate optional |
| Othell Fortune Seeker | Crit king · skillcast sessions · spoil fantasy | Crit rate · Coin blink · AoE skillcast |
| Othell Wind Rider | Best shot farmer (ToI / plains) · low raw multiplier | Perfect dashes · skip CD stacking |
| Othell Adventurer | Melee counter fantasy · weakest kit right now | Avoid for progress |
Perfect Rate & Perfect Power
Flat points. Sum them, divide by 1000, that is your Perfect chance on that skill.
- Passive / buff Perfect Rate
- Sum every line (class passives, limits, cursed weapon, SP skills, etc.)
- Skill Perfect Rate
- Printed on the blow (e.g. Easterly / Right Angle often sit at 550)
- Chance
- (passive + skill) ÷ 1000
- Perfect Power
- Separate scalar that multiplies how hard the Perfect hit hits
A few patches ago % Perfect chances became flat points. Patch notes claimed efficiency was unchanged if you take the SP Perfect skill — without that skill, chance is slightly worse than the old formula. Most players never noticed.
Perfect math — worked examples
Perfect Rate is a chance input; Perfect Power is a damage input. Adding rate does not directly make each successful Perfect stronger, and adding power does not make Perfect occur more often.
Chance examples
| Passive/buff rate | Skill rate | Sum | Approx chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 154 | 550 | 704 | 70.4% |
| 254 | 550 | 804 | 80.4% |
| 154 | 200 | 354 | 35.4% |
| 554 during Preparation | 200 | 754 | 75.4% |
| 304 | 600 | 904 | 90.4% |
Example A — why skill rate matters
A character with 154 passive Perfect Rate uses a 550-rate dash and a 200-rate rotation blow. The same sheet produces about 70.4% Perfect on the dash but only 35.4% on the rotation blow. Calling the character a '70% Perfect build' hides the skill-specific failure.
Example B — Preparation changes Ghost Hunter
If Preparation contributes +400 rate, the 154 passive example becomes 554 before the skill. A 200-rate blow rises from 35.4% to 75.4%; a 550-rate dash mathematically reaches 110.4% and is functionally capped at certainty if no hidden modifier intervenes.
Example C — expected Perfects per rotation
For four independent blows at 70.4%, expected Perfect count is 4 × 0.704 = 2.816. This is a long-run average, not a promise: one rotation can land zero or four.
Ten-skill expectation
| Chance per skill | Expected Perfects in 10 | Expected non-Perfects |
|---|---|---|
| 35.4% | 3.54 | 6.46 |
| 70.4% | 7.04 | 2.96 |
| 80.4% | 8.04 | 1.96 |
| 90.4% | 9.04 | 0.96 |
Example D — rate versus power
Suppose a normal white hit is 100, a Perfect is 300, and the skill has 70% Perfect chance. Expected hit = 0.70×300 + 0.30×100 = 240. Raising chance to 80% gives 260. Raising Perfect damage from 300 to 330 at the old 70% gives 261. Compare expected output, not isolated screenshots.
Ghost Hunter — default dagger
If you reroll a knife or you are new and insist on Othell, start here. The spreadsheet gap vs the other three is not subtle.
- 'Cold Blood'
- Upgrades Grim Reaper Possession into Cruel Grim Reaper Possession · kill refund −10s CD
- Cruel Reaper
- ~110% normal-crit-style package + skill crit power — comparable to a crit book while it is up
- Pack uptime
- Base CD crushed by sheet cooldown (~20s) · two kills refund the rest → nearly permanent on trash
- Bosses
- No kill refund → you wait the full gap · still better forced-crit uptime than other knives
- 'Preparation'
- Triggers off Reaper / Shadow Reverse (and similar) · +400 Perfect Rate · +250 Perfect Power for a short window — almost always up on normal packs
- 'Ghost Whisper'
- 2 enhanced stones · last priority · +50 Perfect Rate · +250 Perfect Power · 30s / 3m · also treats every angle as a backstab (backstab→global modifier currently disabled; expected back next autumn)
Perfect on Ghost Hunter (illustrative)
| Setup | Approx Perfect chance |
|---|---|
| Base with Preparation | ~65% |
| + high Perfect weapon (Elset-tier) | ~75% |
| + cursed weapon | ~80% |
| + Perfect SP skill | ~83% |
| + Ghost Whisper | ~88% |
- Crit multipliers under Reaper are in another league — on the order of ~80% harder than Fortune Seeker and ~3× Wind Rider in the same comparison sheet when Reaper is counted.
- White Perfect hits are also monstrous. Ghost Hunter can abandon crit-rate stacks in high PvE and in PvP and still delete people with whites.
Priority
Before
Main / first UKR dagger → Ghost Hunter until PvE content is solved
After
Only then reroll Wind Rider / Fortune Seeker for farm preference
Fortune Seeker — crit & skillcast
Highest class crit-rate bonus and the only knife that feels great dumping Virtual Equipment AoEs into session zones early.
- Crit rate bonus
- ~59% class package vs ~32% on the other three (Jawbone Blow / thumb line + Lv.120 passive)
- 'Coin of Maphr' / Coin blink
- ~600 range · ~5s CD — one of the best dagger damage blinks
- Coin Perfect
- ~70% — healthy
- Heart Breaker rotation Perfect
- ~35% base · still ~45–53% with Elset + curse + SP — too low for a white build
- Skillcast
- Roughly 2× the other knives · Wild Plunder + small-radius AoE make Jamoa / Pantheon / Firen / Innadril sessions pop first
Play Fortune Seeker through crit rate. Pushing toward ~4500 crit rate for −90% cut content is realistic on a mid-solid sheet; white/Perfect is a trap because Heart Breaker-tier skills refuse to Perfect often enough.
- Bosses: higher crit rate + someone proccing your counter-crit makes Fortune Seeker a cleaner boss knife than Wind Rider. Ghost Hunter still wins if Reaper uptime is modeled fairly — but Spoil is the interesting boss alternative.
Wind Rider — ToI & shot specialist
Lowest damage multipliers of the four. Highest Adena/hour once you one-shot and the dash loop never stops.
- 'Easterly Wind Strike' + 'Right Angle Reverse'
- 400-range dashes (after the Lv.120 enhanced-stone range passive) · 5s class CD · Perfect Rate 550 each
- 'Wind Riding'
- Perfect on one dash resets the other — cooldown gear becomes optional for poke volume
- Vs other blinks
- Fortune Coin: 600 / 5s · Ghost Shadow Reverse: 600 / 8s with longer animation
- 'Wind Sting' (last priority)
- Shaves ~2s off both dash CDs · use after a non-Perfect / non-kill poke to snap both back
- Gear flex
- Drop Silenite / Aquamarine / CD Homunculus → Amber + damage Homunculus (e.g. Diavalnok line)
Dash skills are still melee-tagged for hit rules — community testing reports ~90% land rate and fewer evasion drops than pure ranged poke in ToI and session zones. Accuracy around +100 is the usual comfort target.
Farm example (same sheet tier, shot already online)
Before
Fortune Seeker ~0.5–1.0B · Ghost Hunter ~1.45B ToI Adena
After
Wind Rider ~2.0B · reference Samurai ~2.2B — Wind Rider is the knife ToI king
- Same story in shot group zones / plains: when everyone one-shots, Wind Rider’s infinite 400-range pokes print more than raw multiplier charts suggest.
Adventurer — the odd one out
White multipliers look fine on paper. The kit around them does not.
- No real ranged damage blink — everything wants range 0.
- Perfect rates are among the worst in the family; you cannot force a white build.
- Maximum Blow / Critical Tactics CD shaves and Perfect candy do not replace a second dash. The melee blow-counter fantasy needs you to actually take a hit (evasion / Tanzanite blocks the proc) — mediocre knives that eat damage usually die before the counter matters.
Comparison tables
Relative figures from a matched modifier sheet — use them for ordering, not as patch gospel.
Crit rate & crit damage order
| Metric | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Class crit-rate bonus | Fortune Seeker (~+21% vs peers) | Others tied (~32% package) | — | — |
| Crit hit damage (Reaper on) | Ghost Hunter | Fortune Seeker | Adventurer | Wind Rider |
| Crit hit vs Fortune Seeker | GH ~+81% | baseline | WR far behind (~−60% vs FS) | — |
| Boss angle without Reaper uptime | Fortune Seeker interesting | GH still strong | WR / Adv behind | — |
White / Perfect damage & farm roles
| Metric | Winner | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Rotation Perfect chance | Ghost Hunter / Wind Rider | Fortune Seeker dragged down by Heart Breaker-tier skills |
| Perfect white damage | Ghost Hunter (with/without Whisper) | ~2× Fortune Seeker · up to ~3–4× Wind Rider on the sheet |
| Non-Perfect white scaling | Nearly tied (WR slightly worse) | Ignore until you already one-shot whites |
| Auto-attack potential | Ghost Hunter under Reaper (~×2+) | Matters for Superion / Romun-style solo |
| Skillcast / VE AoE | Fortune Seeker (~×2) | First knife into 120 sessions |
| ToI / plains shot farm | Wind Rider | Then Fortune Seeker (5s blink) · Ghost Hunter · Adventurer last |
Practical ranking (not a weighted index)
| Goal | Pick |
|---|---|
| Clear PvE content / raw damage | Ghost Hunter >> Fortune Seeker > Adventurer > Wind Rider |
| ToI Adena once you one-shot | Wind Rider > Fortune Seeker > Ghost Hunter > Adventurer |
| Session / Pantheon via dagger skills | Wind Rider ≥ Fortune Seeker > Ghost Hunter > Adventurer |
| Session via skillcast AoE | Fortune Seeker >> Wind Rider > others |
| Honest “best knife overall” | Ghost Hunter — early and late |
Farm recommendations by boost tier
The best dagger changes after one-shot thresholds. Before the threshold, multiplier and survival win. After it, range, animation, reset frequency, and target acquisition decide Adena per hour.
Tier 1 — starter / weak boost
| Goal | Pick | Why | Avoid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main progression | Othell Ghost Hunter | Reaper damage and Preparation make ordinary packs possible sooner | Wind Rider before range/reset package |
| Session zones | Othell Ghost Hunter | Raw damage covers weak gear | Forcing Virtual Equipment System casts without MP/survival |
| Bosses | Othell Ghost Hunter | Highest dependable ceiling | Adventurer counter fantasy |
| Adena farm | Othell Ghost Hunter | One-shot threshold matters more than dash speed | Rerolling solely from late-game farm charts |
Tier 2 — mid boost / core stones online
| Goal | Pick | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| General PvE | Othell Ghost Hunter | Default while mobs take multiple hits |
| Skillcast sessions | Othell Fortune Seeker | Wild Plunder and Virtual Equipment System AoEs clear safely |
| Boss alternative | Othell Fortune Seeker | Crit-rate sheet is developed and counter-crit support exists |
| Tower of Insolence | Othell Wind Rider test begins | Range passive learned, dash accuracy comfortable, mobs nearly one-shot |
| Open-world PvP | Othell Ghost Hunter | White Perfect pressure and Reaper outweigh farm mobility |
Tier 3 — strong boost / one-shot farm
| Farm | Best pick | Runner-up | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| ToI spread packs | Othell Wind Rider | Othell Fortune Seeker | Alternating Perfect resets and 400-range movement maximize targets/hour |
| Shot group / plains | Othell Wind Rider | Othell Fortune Seeker | Travel and animation dominate after damage is solved |
| 120 skillcast session | Othell Fortune Seeker | Othell Wind Rider | About twice the dagger-family skillcast package |
| Hard boss / solo target | Othell Ghost Hunter | Othell Fortune Seeker | Reaper auto/crit/Perfect multiplier remains king |
| Mixed all-content main | Othell Ghost Hunter | Othell Fortune Seeker | Least dependent on a single farm geometry |
Tier 4 — endgame specialist
| Account plan | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| One dagger only | Keep Ghost Hunter unless ToI/session profit is the explicit account goal |
| Farm twin plus boss main | Wind Rider farm twin · Ghost Hunter boss/main |
| Session specialist | Fortune Seeker with skillcast package and a separate boss solution |
| PvP dagger | Ghost Hunter; do not sacrifice kill power for an hourly-farm ranking |
| Adventurer collector | Play for class identity, not expected progression efficiency |
One-shot thresholds and farm geometry
What changes the winner
| Observed farm | Interpretation | Adjustment |
|---|---|---|
| Wind Rider needs two dashes per mob | Damage threshold not solved | Return to Ghost Hunter or add damage before rerolling |
| Wind Rider one-shots but pauses | Perfect reset failed or target acquisition lagged | Add the Wind Sting fallback and inspect accuracy |
| Fortune Seeker clears whole spawn with AoE | Skillcast geometry favors FS | Stay FS even if ToI single-target charts favor WR |
| Ghost Hunter overkills by 3× | Damage is being wasted | Test a range/animation specialist on the same camp |
| All classes wait for respawn | Camp is capped | Move to denser/harder content; class comparison is meaningless there |
| Deaths erase hourly gain | Boost tier is overstated | Use Ghost Hunter damage/safety or lower the zone |
- Spread mobs
- Wind Rider’s alternating dashes gain value
- Tight pack
- Fortune Seeker AoE and Virtual Equipment System casts gain value
- High-HP single target
- Ghost Hunter multiplier gains value
- Long empty travel
- Range and dash animation matter more than sheet damage
- Crowded/contested
- Target reach and first-hit reliability can beat isolated dummy DPS
Build paths for each Othell
Where the next budget goes
| Class | First package | Second package | Late specialization |
|---|---|---|---|
| Othell Ghost Hunter | Cold Blood / Reaper uptime | Damage and enough Perfect for rotation | Ghost Whisper only after core enhanced-stone skills |
| Othell Fortune Seeker | Crit rate and Coin mobility | Skillcast / AoE package | Boss crit setup or session specialization |
| Othell Wind Rider | Lv.120 range passive and dash loop | Accuracy and damage to one-shot | Amber/damage Homunculus after cooldown gear is removed |
| Othell Adventurer | Basic survival and damage | No efficient prestige recommendation | Only invest for preference |
- Ghost Hunter can use a white/Perfect direction because Preparation raises low-rate rotation skills, not merely the showcase dash.
- Fortune Seeker stays crit-oriented because Coin is healthy but Heart Breaker-family Perfect remains unreliable.
- Wind Rider removes cooldown pieces only after Perfect resets are operational. Before that point, dropping cooldown creates dead air.
What you should actually play
Recommendation
Before
Small or mid boost · first dagger → Ghost Hunter
After
Big boost · love ToI oysters / plains → Wind Rider · love spoil + sessions → Fortune Seeker
- Do not start Adventurer for efficiency.
- If you only have stones for one dagger prestige path, buy Ghost Hunter’s Cold Blood / Reaper package before Wind Rider’s range passive or Fortune Seeker toys.
