Iss Enchanter Rework Guide (Live)
A complete post-rework Iss Enchanter guide for Live: the new physical DPS model, level and rune-stone gates, every Iss branch, correct two-Iss party construction, light-armor and dual-blunt setup, cooldown and attribute breakpoints, skill enchants, Homunculus choices, and auto/skill macro behavior.
At a glance
- 1Iss Enchanters are real physical damage dealers after the rework: auto builds start simply and developed skill-critical builds can approach Death Knight performance
- 2Prelude is a major limit with about a ten-minute reuse; Shield Bash becomes a frequent damage/stun button as cooldown improves
- 3Physical skill critical damage is central because the rework roughly doubled the effective skill-critical result compared with ordinary hits
- 4The full self-buff package needs level 120, broad rune-stone investment, and at least two enhanced rune stones so the level-110 group buff applies the strongest Iss Spirit
- 5Angels Touch' resistance was reduced from 1000 to 500, so it is no longer a near-universal answer by itself
- 6Iss Spectral Dancer is the highest personal DPS branch; Iss Hierophant has the lowest branch DPS but supplies +10% cooldown and Prophecy of Might
- 7Build order is skill cooldown, target attribute defense plus 220, P. Atk., critical scaling, then only the defense needed to stay alive
- 8Use light armor and 'Tranquility' dual blunts; pair Dancer or Muse with Hierophant, Dominator, or Doomcryer so party packages stack
What the rework changed
Iss moved from a support that happened to swing a weapon into a support with a complete physical damage path. The early build can resemble a fist-style normal attacker. With cooldown, attribute, rune stones, and skill-critical investment, the developed build uses frequent physical skills and branch limits without giving up the reason parties invite an Iss.
Before and after the rework
| System | Old expectation | Reworked behavior | Practical result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal damage | Secondary to buffs | Passives and self-buffs support real physical DPS | Iss can farm and fill damage between party duties |
| Critical skills | Modest return | Effective skill-critical result is roughly doubled | P. Skill Crit Rate/Power become endgame priorities |
| Normal attacks | Fallback damage | Strong opening path with fist-like tempo | A new Iss can progress before every stone unlock |
| Limits | Party utility focus | Prelude creates a major personal/party damage window | Ten-minute planning matters |
| Short skill loop | Few meaningful spam buttons | Shield Bash line gains value as reuse falls | Cooldown directly changes gameplay |
| Support identity | Buff, heal, resurrect, debuff | Those tools remain | Damage is added responsibility, not permission to ignore support |
- 'Prelude'
- Powerful limit with approximately ten-minute reuse; align it with real burn windows
- 'Shield Bash'
- Physical damage plus stun utility; increasingly spammable as the sheet gains cooldown
- Skill criticals
- A central damage multiplier after the rework, not a cosmetic line
- Early regression
- Some level-101 effects are weaker than their pre-rework versions, so incomplete characters can feel worse before new unlocks arrive
- 'Angel's Touch'
- Resistance reduced from 1000 to 500; supplement it instead of treating it as total immunity
Levels and rune-stone gates
Iss power arrives in layers. The class can level through normal attacks early, adds more skill damage as cooldown and rune stones accumulate, and reaches the intended complete self package at level 120. Planning these gates prevents spending for a late rotation that the character cannot yet execute.
Development stages
| Stage | What is online | Damage plan | Investment focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| 101–109 | Basic support and early rework tools | Sustainable normal attacks with selected skills | Weapon basics, survival, buff uptime |
| 110 group-buff stage | Group buff can feed the self package as unlocks accumulate | Hybrid auto/skill loop | Cooldown, attribute, normal rune stones |
| 110–119 | Branch skills and stronger short-cooldown rotation | Transition toward physical skill criticals | P. Atk., skill crit rate/power, two enhanced stones |
| 120 complete stage | Strongest Iss Spirit application and broad kit | Full DPS rotation around limits and branch tools | Finish stones, reuse, and encounter-specific defense |
- Level requirement
- 120 for the fully developed rework package
- Normal stones
- Many rune-stone skills are part of the complete branch, not optional decoration
- Enhanced stones
- At least two are needed for the key completed self-buff route
- Level-110 interaction
- The group buff supplies the stronger self Iss Spirit once the relevant unlock conditions are met
- Early recommendation
- Use the auto build to earn progress instead of waiting idle for the finished skill build
- Unlock the skills that change the sustainable damage loop before buying narrow PvP or convenience options.
- Keep enough Adena for shared cooldown, attribute, and weapon progression; stones alone do not make the rotation work.
- Re-test the auto panel after every major unlock because a newly added skill can create MP or animation bottlenecks.
Iss branch comparison
Each Iss shares the support/DPS foundation but adds a distinct party package and damage pattern. Choose by the regular party first and personal damage second; duplicated buffs can erase the value that looked strongest in isolation.
Five Iss branches
| Class | Personal damage | Signature value | Best use | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iss Hierophant | Lowest of the branches | Personal +10% cooldown and party Prophecy of Might | Dagger/crit parties and cooldown-focused main | Prophecy has about 300s base reuse |
| Iss Dominator | Strong when packs stack | Freezing Flame becomes ranged AoE pressure | Dense farms and clan/party control | Value drops when targets refuse to group |
| Iss Doomcryer | Solid physical route | Protective shells and ally MP recovery | Long fights and MP-hungry groups | Less peak personal burst than Dancer |
| Iss Sword Muse | Good but below Dancer | PvP debuffs and off-party clan support | PvP organizations and defensive song package | Not the top personal PvE pick |
| Iss Spectral Dancer | Highest Iss DPS | Self rhapsody interaction and anti-mage shell | Damage-focused Iss and party dance slot | Must still cover all dance duties |
Hierophant
Iss Hierophant sacrifices branch damage for consistency and party amplification. The personal 10% skill-cooldown advantage improves every short skill and helps permanent windows. Prophecy of Might points toward critical power, making it especially desirable for Othell parties, but its roughly 300-second base reuse means cooldown planning is mandatory.
Dominator and Doomcryer
Iss Dominator gets disproportionate value when monsters stand on one point: stacked Freezing Flame converts the pack into ranged AoE damage. Iss Doomcryer is the sustain-oriented orc route, using shells and ally MP restoration to keep a demanding group functional.
Sword Muse and Spectral Dancer
Iss Sword Muse brings PvP debuffs and can extend relevant support to clanmates outside the immediate party, which is strategically stronger than a personal-DPS table suggests. Iss Spectral Dancer wins the damage comparison because its self Battle Rhapsody effect stacks into the normal rhapsody window, greatly increasing critical power.
Build the two-Iss party correctly
A full party generally wants one song/dance specialist and one Prophecy/orc specialist. The point is stacking distinct packages: Dancer or Muse occupies one side, while Hierophant, Dominator, or Doomcryer occupies the other.
Useful Iss pairs
| First Iss | Second Iss | Party identity | Why it works |
|---|---|---|---|
| Iss Spectral Dancer | Iss Hierophant | Physical critical damage core | Dance/rhapsody plus Prophecy of Might and cooldown |
| Iss Spectral Dancer | Iss Doomcryer | Damage plus long-fight sustain | Dance package stacks with shells and MP recovery |
| Iss Spectral Dancer | Iss Dominator | Dense-farm offense | Top Iss personal damage plus Freezing Flame pack pressure |
| Iss Sword Muse | Iss Hierophant | Defensive/critical party | Songs and PvP utility plus Might/cooldown |
| Iss Sword Muse | Iss Doomcryer | Durable PvP or long encounter | Defensive songs, debuffs, shells, and MP support |
- Physical dagger party
- Hierophant is attractive because Prophecy of Might favors critical power
- Raw-power party
- Dominator/Doomcryer Prophecy direction can fit classes scaling broad P. Atk. rather than dagger crit power
- Mage pressure
- Spectral Dancer's anti-mage shell can justify the branch beyond its personal DPS
- PvP clan play
- Sword Muse gains value from debuffs and off-party support
- Composition rule
- Check which songs, dances, Prophecies, and limits actually stack before filling the second slot
Auto build, skill build, and limits
Use the auto build while the character lacks cooldown and critical infrastructure. Move toward the skill build when Shield Bash and branch attacks can cycle without emptying MP. Limits should be planned around real encounter windows, not fired because the icon is available.
Damage build transition
| Build | Core damage | Required sheet | Strength | Weakness |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Auto | Normal attacks with essential self-buffs | P. Atk., attack speed, normal critical scaling | Simple and sustainable early | Lower ceiling after skill unlocks |
| Hybrid | Normal attacks plus short physical skills | Cooldown, attribute, growing skill crit | Best development stage | Can waste MP if every skill is enabled |
| Full skill | Shield Bash, branch attacks, critical windows, limits | High reuse reduction, attribute +220, P. Skill Crit Rate/Power | Endgame DPS can approach strong DK results | Stone- and gear-heavy |
Prelude and rhapsody timing
Prelude has roughly a ten-minute reuse, so it belongs on a boss burn, dangerous PvP push, or a farm window where the extra output reaches a real breakpoint. Align it with the party's rhapsody effects and the strongest branch buffs. On Spectral Dancer, verify the self-rhapsody stack before committing the full attack sequence.
Shield Bash as a damage button
The bash line is not a Death Knight bullet clone, but enough cooldown turns it into a repeated physical damage and stun tool. If it still leaves long empty gaps, the solution is more reuse reduction or a hybrid loop—not filling the panel with low-value animations.
- Keep mandatory buffs and branch support on a reliable cycle before adding optional damage casts.
- Remove any skill that lowers kills per buff window through animation lock, travel, or MP collapse.
- In PvP, save stuns, debuffs, Angels Touch', and limits for the opponent's real push.
Stat order and attribute breakpoint
Cooldown changes the number of meaningful actions Iss performs, so it comes first. Attribute is the next hard check: aim for the target monster's defense attribute plus about 220. After those foundations, increase physical attack and the critical package matching the build.
Priority order
| Priority | Stat | Why | Stop/shift condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Skill cooldown | More Shield Bash, branch skills, Prophecy, and limit uptime | When key windows and sustainable rotation are reached |
| 2 | Attack attribute | Crossing monster defense by about 220 maximizes the practical attribute advantage | Target defense +220 |
| 3 | P. Atk. | Raises both normal physical and skill damage | Continue after cooldown/attribute foundations |
| 4A | Normal Crit Rate/Power | For early auto builds | Shift toward skill criticals during transition |
| 4B | P. Skill Crit Rate/Power | For the developed skill build and rework multiplier | Balance rate before overstacking power |
| 5 | Defense/resistance | Keeps the session alive | Stop when deaths and recovery no longer limit output |
- Cooldown sources
- 'Tranquility' dual blunts, cooldown-oriented SA, Homunculus, accessories, and class package
- Attribute test
- Look up or test the target field; adding attribute blindly can overspend after the +220 advantage
- P. Atk. value
- Applies across auto and physical skill phases, making it the safest post-foundation offense
- Critical transition
- Do not retain a pure normal-crit setup after the rotation becomes skill-driven
- Defense rule
- Build enough to finish the content; damage comes first once survival is stable
Armor, weapon, and Homunculus
The reworked Iss follows a physical warrior equipment direction. Light armor and dual blunts support that identity, while the Homunculus choice depends on whether the account still needs broad damage or only the last cooldown breakpoint.
Core equipment choices
| Slot/system | Recommended direction | Reason | Alternative condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Armor | Light armor | Physical damage and warrior-side bonuses match the skill kit | Robe only as a temporary inherited set, not the target |
| Weapon | 'Tranquility' dual blunts | Dual-blunt compatibility plus important cooldown | Use a transitional weapon until the cooldown piece is attainable |
| SA direction | Cooldown first; physical offense after breakpoint | The kit is limited by reuse before raw attack | Add P. Atk./critical only when key reuse is solved |
| Homunculus | Green Ari | Broad offensive package with cooldown value | Angel when cooldown is the only missing requirement |
| Attribute | Match the planned hunting target | Reach defense attribute +220 efficiently | Change element only when the regular field changes |
Homunculus pick
- Do not keep robe because the class is a buffer. Inspect the actual damage type: the rework's key attacks are physical.
- Value 'Tranquility' by the additional casts and buff uptime it creates, not only by weapon P. Atk.
- Maintain one survival preset for dangerous party/PvP content; defense is last in the farm priority, not absent from the account.
Skill enchants and revelations
Enchant damage skills for reliable output, debuffs for landing rate or duration, and party tools according to the content that actually threatens the group. Avoid one universal enchant list: a PvE Dancer and a PvP Muse solve different failures.
Enchant directions
| Skill group | Default route | Use case | Alternative |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physical attacks | Focus | Improve critical reliability for the DPS rotation | Use the route that crosses the current rate breakpoint |
| Debuffs | Chance | PvP or higher-resistance targets | Time when landing is already reliable and duration matters |
| Angels Touch' | Defensive/resistance route | Restore practical party protection after the 1000→500 reduction | Match the dominant incoming threat |
| Rhapsody package | P. Def./defensive direction where available | Keep the party alive through the damage window | Offensive route only if survival is solved |
| Requiem | Mighty | Physical party and personal damage | Inspiration when a mage/summoner carry benefits more |
- Revelation opener
- 'Unbridled' plus 'Hurricane Shackles' after Oracles Gaze' for the +10% P./M. Atk. window
- Defensive revelation
- 'Immortal Firmness' for a window-buffer or player expected to survive focused pressure
- PvE bias
- Focus attack enchants and damage uptime after required support is reliable
- PvP bias
- Chance debuffs, defensive timing, and resistance matter more than a small paper-DPS gain
Auto panel and macro behavior
Iss can run a normal-attack panel early and a more active skill sequence later. The important technical detail is preventing an unwanted automatic weapon swing after casts, especially when positioning or repeated skill use matters.
Control setups
| Setup | Use | Strength | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| In-game auto panel | Normal-attack farm and essential recurring skills | Simple and robust | May not sequence every skill at the desired timing |
| Permitted repeated-input setup | Full skill rotation and party window | More precise cast order | Must be supervised and comply with applicable game rules |
| Manual PvP/party | Limits, cleanse, debuffs, resurrection, target swaps | Correct reaction timing | Higher attention requirement |
Force and CN suffixes
Append the appropriate Force/CN command form to cast lines when the client would otherwise begin a normal attack after the skill. The purpose is to preserve skill sequencing and position, not to add an extra attack. Test each line on a safe target because command behavior can differ by skill.
- Keep a panel loop for the auto build and a separate skill sequence for the developed build.
- Do not place Prelude, major rhapsody windows, emergency resistance, or resurrection in a blind spam loop.
- After adding a skill, watch one complete MP cycle and confirm the character does not auto-swing into bad positioning.
Build and party checklist
- Choose branch by group need: Hierophant for cooldown/Might, Dominator for stacked AoE, Doomcryer for shells/MP, Muse for PvP utility, Dancer for top DPS.
- Use Dancer or Muse plus Hierophant/Dominator/Doomcryer when the party has two Iss slots.
- Level with an auto or hybrid build; target level 120, broad rune-stone skills, and at least two enhanced stones for the complete package.
- Wear light armor and work toward 'Tranquility' dual blunts.
- Build cooldown first, then target defense attribute +220, P. Atk., the correct critical package, and defense last.
- Use green Ari for broad value or Angel when only cooldown remains.
- Enchant attacks toward Focus, debuffs toward Chance/Time, and support skills for the party's actual failure.
- Plan Prelude around its roughly ten-minute reuse; do not blind-spam limits or emergency support.
- Test Force/CN macro suffixes so casts do not trigger unwanted normal attacks.
